It’s interesting to look back upon old journals and see what you found of enough importance to write down over the years. I’ve noticed, on these trips down memory lane, that if I were to pick one word to encompass my journey through the years it would be Melancholy (a gloomy state of mind, especially when habitual or prolonged). Here is a poem from 2008 that still describes how I feel today.
After being wrapped up in darkness, constantly in doubt, I couldn’t see the light, didn’t know how to find my way out. Then I gradually felt hope surround me, and started to contemplate the possibilities. I let go of the difficulties and began to wonder what my life might come to be. But getting back on my feet has not been as easy as it seems. Some days I feel completely beat, like the furthest thing from reach are my dreams.
